A little bit about Nicole Kupchik, MN, RN, CCNS, CCRN, PCCN, CMC

Nicole Kupchik has practiced as a Critical Care nurse for over twenty years. She obtained her Nursing Degree from Purdue University and a Master of Nursing from the University of Washington.Nicole was part of a multidisciplinary team that was one of the first in the US to implement therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest. As part of this effort, Nicole was responsible for protocol development and has published numerous papers on this topic.
In 2008, Nicole lead a team that implemented a formalized Sepsis program at Harborview Medical Center that led to a reduction in mortality, hospital length of stay and a significant cost avoidance. She collaborated with IT specialists to develop an innovative method to electronically screen patients in acute care units who developed sepsis while hospitalized. For this work, she was awarded 3 Patient Safety & Clinical Leadership awards. Currently she works as a staff nurse at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. In 2013 Nicole founded Nicole Kupchik Consulting & Education. In 2017, she published 4 books to assist nurses on their journey to becoming certified with the CCRN & PCCN.
