NTI 2022 SCHOLARSHIP-HURRY....DEADLINE FEBRUARY 28,2022

The Central Indiana Chapter is offering a scholarship to assist 2 individuals to attend the 2022 NTI in Houston, TX - May 15 to 18th or virtually June 6 to 8th!  CIC will be awarding one $1200 scholarship for in-person attendance and two $320 virtual attendance scholarships.

Interested?  Here are the details….

• Individuals need to submit an essay on this year’s theme "Rooted in Strength" to be reviewed by a panel of board members.
• The guidelines are as follows:
• The essay should be a minimum of 500 words, 12 font.
• Describe how you are “Rooted in Strength” in your professional practice or you may share how going to NTI would help you be “Rooted in Strength”. We are encouraging creativity in using the theme in your exemplar. Keep in mind the mission and values of AACN.
  • The 2021-2022 theme is inspired by her personal and professional journey, and her vision for the future of AACN. Early in her career, Wathen walked away from nursing after the deaths of her father, brother and first husband within the span of a few years. “I had reached a threshold. I needed to step back in order to move forward,” Wathen recalls. “Today, nurses are at a threshold, at the cusp of a new and different world, one we can’t yet completely imagine.”
  • “Nurses are rooted in strength, forged in fire and growing in power. Rooted in Strength we create our new path forward as leaders in healthcare.” President Beth Walden (virtual keynote address, 2021.)
• Do not include any identifying information (like your name, hospital, or unit) as we will blind all this information for the judges. Please specify if you are interested in the virtual or in person attendance option.
• The essay should be turned in by February 28, 2022 to: Diane Smith, CIC Scholarship Chair, at dsmith@uindy.edu; (Diane will send you an e-mail receipt.)
• The winners will be asked to submit a brief article for our Nursing Network site, read their winning essay, or verbally share a brief summary of their NTI experience at a dinner meeting no later than September 12, 2022. Diane will contact you regarding your preference in June.
• Winners will be announced no later than March 14, 2022, so that you can register before March 31, 2022 for the member price reduced fee of $525.00 for the live conference or $320.00 for the virtual conference. Registration fees will be reimbursed as soon as the receipt is submitted.
• Applicants must be a CIC-AACN chapter member and national member to be eligible.
• Each winner will supply their conference registration receipt for reimbursement. Send to Diane (e-mail above) no later than June 21, 2022.

FYI - Some essays may be sent to our National President or shared at a dinner meeting as stated above. Entering this contest means you agree to these terms.
